Just Be

This is something different. Today I've written a reminder to myself. To remind myself that in the midst of chaos and uncertainty and my overwhelming desire to stay under the covers and hide, I need to take a breath. Not to control what I can't control, not to pursue what can't be achieved... but simply... to be.
Exploring, curious, adventurous, sad, angry, loving, kind, slow, creative, cozy, grieving, playful....
So, I wrote a poem of sorts, for myself. My reminder to just be. I want to share it with you, not that it is profound or even half decent, but as an encouragement for you to find your own sense of what it means to just be.
Blessings on you.
Just Be
Sit
Stand
Cry
Laugh
Run
Build
Create
Get lost in a book
Feel it’s pages, feel it’s weight
Imagine, dream, write
Taste your food
Savour the textures
Savour those you share it with
Just Be
Mourn
Grieve
Sob
Accept the Pain
Let it roll across you
Let the tears out
Loss of life
Loss of freedom
Loss and change
Just Be
Giggle
Tickle
Feel
Share
Find a belly
Find a belly laugh
Embrace the joy within
Just Be
Create
Explore
Try something new
Reimagine something old
Fix something broken
Smell the glue
Smell the paint
See the colour
Just Be
Run
Walk
Jog
Hike
Breath in
Breath out
Fall
Suffer
Live
Just Be
Work
Study
Find joy in mundane
Find joy in routine
Find joy in serving others
In effort, in learning
Hammer nails with love
Pay bills with gratitude
Just Be
See
Hear
Feel
Open your eyes
See the sky
See the trees
See the people
Hear them
Explore them
Feel them near
Just Be
Sing
Dance
Be Silly
Throw a dance party
Play loud music
Tell a joke
Cheat in a game
Just Be
Don’t do
Just Be
Just Breathe
Just Relax
Just… Be
And feel peace
And be alive
